The construction of Havana Airport (HAV) began in March 1929 and the facility was officially opened on 24th February 1930. There are four terminals here. It has three VIP lounges and features many jetways and facilities absent in Terminal 1. Terminal 3’s upper level is the location for the departures and ticketing

Departments while baggage carousels and arrivals are catered for on the lower level. In the said Arrivals Area several rental car companies are represented including Rex, Via Rent-a-car, Rent a Car, Fenix and Cubanacar. Both the Arrivals and Departure offices feature information desks and the terminal also offers internet services in addition to a post office and a bank. The restaurants and bars here operate 24hrs a day.

The fourth terminal at Havana Airport is Terminal 5 which is used by Aerotaxi and Aerocaribbean. At present this terminal is temporarily being used to handle US flights as Terminal 2 is undergoing construction and remodelling.

The Jose Marti International Airport (HAV) has four passenger terminals and one terminal for freight.

This terminal 1 is the domestic terminal and is used mostly for domestic flights. It is located on the west end of runway 6 at the airport. The airlines that typically use this terminal are Cubana de Aviacion, Aerogaviota, and AeroCaribbean.

Terminal 2 of the Jose Marti International Airport is the US Charters terminal. This terminal is mostly used for scheduled charter flights to and fro the United States. You’ll find this terminal on the north side of the airport by runway 24. Terminal 2 has been going through extensive construction and repairs in recent years to improve upon it.

This is the International terminal. It is also the largest in the airport and handles mostly international flights coming to and from other countries. It serves more than 25 international airlines going to 60+ destinations in 30+ countries around the world. It can be found on the north side of the runway.

This is the last of the passenger terminals. It is the Caribbean terminal and is used mostly with Cuban airlines. It is found on the southeast corner of the airfield at the airport. It is used for both domestic and regional flights.

Many services are offered by HAV and its various terminals. Most of the activity that you’ll find in the airport will be in terminal. Terminal 3 contains immigration, customs, ticketing, arrivals, tourist information, ATM machines, post office, currency exchange, internet access, smoking areas, car rental offices, taxi stands, large lounges, public phones, medical care, disabled facilities, lost and found, children play areas, bathrooms, and restaurants and shops.

In terminal 2, there are immigration/customs offices, baggage claim, arrivals, currency exchange, car rental offices, taxi stand, public phones, bathrooms, restaurants, and various shops. There are no ATM machines in this terminal.

Finally, in terminal 1, there is a taxi stand, public phone, bathrooms, and areas for buses to take you to Havana. There are no luggage lockers, hotels, or internet in this terminal.

Within the airport, there are several places that you can eat and find some quality food while you wait for your transfer or your flight. Each terminal offers something unique, but the most options will be in terminal 3.
